Well, here it is, my first ever blog post. Kind of a monumental day. I really can't believe that it took me this long to begin blogging. I've always thought of myself as staying current on modern forms of communication, but as I think about it now, the only "fad" that I jumped on right away was Facebook. Other than that, I was slow to get on board texting, I've never had a myspace page, or any web page for that matter, and I'm not convinced about Twitter yet.....
I've only followed a few blogs of my close friends in the past, but recently I've taken on some new reading material (thank you, Google Reader). I suppose it really boils down to purpose. Talking over Easter dinner, I learned according to my brother, that I actually have something worth blogging about i.e. my ministry in Brazil. After all, who would want to just read a bunch of random stuff about somebody and their boring day-to-day life? Interesting question........I've not really thought about it too long, but for some reason it's enjoyable for many people. I'll let my brother tackle that question after he gets Facebook and starts a blog....... :-)
This blog is devoted to God and glorifying his name! I'll use it to keep people informed of how I progress in the ministry that God has given me, namely JAE for Christ serving in Brazil with Project AmaZon. Over the next couple months it will primarily deal with the challenges of preparing to move overseas as a full-time missionary. Eventually the transition will be made to life on the mission field in Brazil!
May God's sovereign purposes be made manifest through my feeble attempt to share His work in my life!
Grace to you all,
JAE
