I write this as I am about to walk out the door headed to Colorado. Believe it or not, this will actually be my FIRST time in the state of Colorado….I know, amazing. I always wished I could go there to ski, but in high school I didn’t ski, in college, I could never get away from class and had other plans for spring break, and once I started working, well, Cat only gave me 10 days off, and those were used to travel to Brazil….so yeah, no skiing in Colorado…
And I’m still not going to ski there…I am actually headed to Colorado
Springs for some training. I’ll be sitting through a 5-day workshop learning how to use a software package called the Global Ministry Mapping System. The software is developed by Global Mapping International and is aimed to provide Christian ministries with resources they need to effectively enable cross-cultural missions. They offer much more than mapping software, but I’ll let you check them out on your own. I will be utilizing this program to map data (location, population, etc.) from the 530 PAZ church plants in the Amazon Basin. I trust the Lord will use this information to inspire the vision and ongoing efforts to reach the Amazon Basin for Christ!
So I’m taking this opportunity to visit some friends in KS on my way there and back and will be staying with friends in Aurora, CO for the majority of the trip. I’m hoping to experience the Rockies' to some degree on Saturday (possibly snowshoeing). Then the workshop is all next week, followed by me high-tailing it back to Cissna Park to catch a wedding reception for my high school basketball coach. I’m looking forward to the chance to catch up with my old teammates.
Prayer Requests
- Safe travels as I will be logging almost 3000 miles on this trip
- Quality time with the Lord in my car
- Ease of learning the new software
Peace to you all,
JAE
