OK, so here’s my first official post from the “field.” Well, not really, since I’m in Miami, but I’m definitely not in Illinois any more, so I’ll count it.
I’m still saying that this is all very surreal. Although, watching my parents leave O’Hare Airport yesterday afternoon has really been sitting on me heavy since then. I’m not really sure when the reality of this whole thing will set in, but until then, I’m keeping it simple with praise to God for all that He has prepared leading up to this day.
So this trip…..four flights, 14 hours flight time, 18 hours layover time. Yeah, I just caught a few Z’s on a bench outside security in Miami (with a small army of other people waiting to get into the International Terminal). Apparently you can’t get in til 4 AM. I thought the bench that I was “sleeping” on was picture worthy, but then I realized that I didn’t charge my camera battery before I left. Smooth one, John. I guess I take after my mom on that one! So I thought I would take advantage of this last bit of Wi-Fi and some Dunkin’ Donuts coffee instead of flopping around on this bench in a half dazed & confused state. 8:10 AM Eastern time departure…
Next post from Brazil!
Peace,
JAE
P.S. I have contracted a slight sinus infection of some sort and while it seems to be waning, I would appreciate some prayer support to get rid of this!
