Conference Week

It’s conference week and I must say that I’m rather pumped up!  Tomorrow kicks off the 9th Annual MDA Conference, hosted by Igreja da PAZ in Santarem.  This is six days of various speakers, cell group activities, celebrations, and worship of our God and Creator!  Hundreds of people from all over Brazil are traveling to Santarem to share in the MDA vision (This is the ADM in English – Apostolic Discipleship Model – and is the model for the cell group structure that forms Igreja da PAZ.)  The conference in intended for cell group leaders, to strengthen and enable them to be more effective leaders for the Lord.  When I say leaders, I mean anyone from the head pastor or elder down to a single cell group leader.

Of course, it’s all in Portuguese, well, except for one of the speakers who is from the States.  But don’t worry, I can pull out bits and pieces of sermons now, and with the aid of a PowerPoint presentation, can usually figure out the main points.

Please join with us in prayer for this conference.  Pray that the Lord will pour out His desire for intimacy on us so that we would all be renewed in love and mercy and grace.  Pray for the men and women who attend, that they would be strengthened as leaders in the Lord’s church.  Pray that the messages would be so full of the Spirit and Truth that ALL attendees are transformed in our very presence into the likeness of Christ!  Pray for the speakers, that the Spirit would flow through them.  We are here to glorify God, and that is my prayer!
