Normal…

I recently posted on my Facebook status that this week was shaping up to be normal.  I quickly got a couple responses from other missionaries on the field about how relative normal is in our lives.  This is true, and I realize it now more than ever.  It is truly amazing to me that in my life right now, normal is beginning to consists of regular trips out on the biggest river in the world, to places where most people don’t realize still exist to do work that God has given me the opportunity to participate in for His glory!  Normal is playing soccer in a remote Amazonian River village with kids that look like my little nieces and nephews.  Normal is living on a boat for extended periods of time on a river.  Normal is sleeping in a hammock on the beach of a river.  Normal is bathing in a cold water stream in the jungle.  Normal is driving through the virgin rain forest on a dirt road.  Normal is singing praises in Portuguese to our God in the middle of the jungle!  Normal is riding around town on a motorcycle taxi.  Normal is…

It won’t be long and the first 26 years of my life just might not be normal any more…

What is normal for you?
