Just another normal week full of discipleship, small groups, traveling up and down the Amazon River, building wooden churches, and soaking in beautiful testimonies from
awesome people that God brings me in contact with from all over the world.

On Sunday we set out to Januária, another small community situated in the flood plane along the main channel of the Amazon River. I have been there once before, you may remember a story of a boat getting stuck and long walks from the boat to the church we were constructing. This church is yet another testimony of abundant grace. Last year we finished a church building in the nearby village of Auerana, through which a man named Fernando was saved. Now, about a year later, he is leading his village forward in a transformation from secular to a Christ-centered nature! They already have three small groups meeting and are seeing the Spirit move through the village!

Fish cookout! |
We took a team of Americans from Canandaigua, New York, to help us with clinics and getting the church construction project off the ground. We were there ministering for three days and helped to give the local church a boost of moral! One of the highlights was fresh grilled locally caught fish over a wood fire! It was how the locals could say thanks for our help. Such a notion of gratitude!
We were also able to minister to them through worship (thanks Dave for the guitar and Juliana for the words) and through the simple explanation of the Word of God (thanks Pastor Chris!). About 60 people showed up for the worship service on the last night, many receiving prayer and coming away strengthened in their faith.

House of the Lord "in-progress" |
Of course it's always good to be home, especially when your pregnant wife is waiting! I'll be taking a bit of time off from traveling as our first BabyE arrives in about a month. But we'll keep praying for all that our God is doing in the Amazon Basin!
