Post Conference

Yesterday wrapped up the biennial Project Amazon Leadership Conference.  PAZ puts on this conference specifically to provide a time of rest, relaxation, and spiritual growth for all the leaders and their families.  We participated with over 500 Brazilians from all over the country.

The focus this year was on the gifts of the spirit.  We learned how to better cultivate our relationship with the Lord, preparing ourselves to be vessels of His mercy, seeking after that which the Spirit has promised to provide in a manifest way.  It was a great message for the start of the year, and year in which we hope to demonstrate through our lives a miraculous, transforming power through faith in Christ Jesus.

We also learned about Storying, a methodology of using story telling as the means to pass on biblical knowledge.  This is especially helpful in areas where literacy is minimal, like in the far reaches of the Amazon, or even in the poor areas of the cities.

Pray with us, that we would take hold of this knowledge and manifest it in our ministries today and in the months to come!

Antony did really well, proving his ability to sleep under less than ideal conditions.  Hopefully we'll be able to get him into a routine the rest of this week!  He's growing and making much more noise these days, even laughing at times!

Now we're back in town and will be preparing for our Japan trip, preparing our cell groups and disciples for our time of absence.

Blessings,
John
